Treswithian Downs Crematorium hosts commemoration event

Treswithian Downs Crematorium is hosting a special commemoration service in September and it is inviting local bereaved families to play a part in it by honouring their loved ones.

The crematorium is marking 14 years of providing exceptional care and support to its surrounding communities by hosting a commemoration event on Saturday 6 September at 11am.

The service will include a photo slideshow to be played during a service and local families are being asked to submit images of their loved ones for inclusion in the tribute.

Treswithian Downs Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 41 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, and which is trusted by more families than any other provider to deliver funerals for their loved ones.

All of Westerleigh's locations are set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect, while benefitting from exceptional care and support from its teams.

Treswithian Downs Crematorium Manager Kathy Green said: “We wanted to organise an event to commemorate our anniversary and it seemed only right that we found a way for local families to take an active part in it.

“The service starts at 11am, following which visitors will be able to enjoy light complimentary refreshments and spend time in our gardens for quiet reflection and remembrance.

“Having an image of a loved one included in a slideshow is an ideal way to honour and remember them while we mark 14 years of service to the Cornish communities around our site.

“No advance booking is required if anyone does wish to visit us on the day, and we look forward to commemorating our anniversary – and your loved ones – with you.”

Anyone who does want an image of their loved one included within the slideshow should email it to treswithiandowns@westerleighgroup.co.uk with the words ‘Commemoration event slideshow’ in the header.

Images should be sent to the crematorium by Sunday 24 August.
